It is with great sadness that we announce the death from this world of two of our members, Grey Wolfe Frye and Julie Apocalypse. Both Grey and Julie were founder members of Mystic Academy and were both well loved wonderful people to have known. Greywolf was sexy, funny, expansive warm and known best as the great DJ of the Greywolf Club. Julie was witty, clear sighted, possessed of a high intelligence and was an unparalleled psychic tarot reader. We celebrate their lives and their passing into light even as we grieve for us left behind who now have to learn to live on this plane without them. They were our friends, we are better for having known them. Memorials to be announced.

SPRING FAIR

The highlight of Mystic Academy's Grand Spring Fair was undoubtedly the concert given by connieleemarie Magic

A renowned RL Celtic singer connieleemarie's clear powerful voice rang out over Spirit City bringing haunting Celtic Melodies to Mystic Academy. Connie has agreed to sing again at Mystic with the promise of another concert in about a month's time. Thank you connieleemarie for that wonderful performance.

Many thanks go to Elizabeth Spieler for all her hard work without which the Fair would not have got off the ground. Thank you also to her two helpers, Hokon Cazelet and kuel Tardis.

More thanks are due to all the people who brought events to the day - Yman for starting her Book of Urantia classes to coincide with the Fair and Baji Bourjade and Wulf Urqhart for a special meditation and healing. Special thanks to Soothsayer Pleides for undertaking astrological readings all day! Way to go Sooth! And to Arawn Spitteler for his work in scripting the Wisdom Flowers. TAROT EXPLORATIONS

StarRose Merlin begins a new series in Tarot Explorations.

Announcing the return of this highly popular class now in a new location high above the Mystic Academy Castle in the stunning VR280 Skybox.

Each week StarRose will guide students through a card review and conduct in depth examinations of interpretation and impressions of the cards in their different suites.

The last twenty minutes of each class will be devoted to group discussion.

NEW CLASSES AT MYSTIC

Anyone out there who is interested in Astrology? Then we have a feast for you! At Mystic Academy and over at the Literary Salon in Galadlas on the Mystic Academy Campus we begin a series of exciting Astrology classes.

On Sundays at 10.30am we have a welcome return of Maikel DeCuir who will be teaching a class in Basic Astrology on the Castle Roof. This is followed at 12.35pm – 2pm on Sundays by an Intermediate class in Astrology - Asteroids in Your Astrology Chart - taught by Soothsayer Pleides.

The week continues with Soothsayer teaching the basics in reading your own astrology chart on Mondays and Fridays at 10.30am – 12.30pm and will run workshops on Tues and Thurs at 10.30am – 12.30pm for you to practice what you have learnt. All times are SLT. Follow the landmark.

HEALING CIRCLE FOR GREYWOLF AND FIRESTAAR

As we know GreyWolf and FireStaar are both fighting illness at the moment. Last night a healing circle was held at the Meditation Centre in Galadlas on the Mystic Campus. The circle was hosted by Wulf Urqhart and Baji Bourjade. The positive energy generated was tangible and we send it to Grey and Fire with all our love. Wulf also asked us to remember the friend, Joan, of Mystic Wildangel who had suffered a stroke that morning. We asked for healing for Joan too.

An Introduction to Modern Philosophy

In this class it will be established the beginings of modern philosophy, and the sharp turn it went away from Medieval philosophy.

Philosophy during this period had a major issue that split philosophers into two major groups. The issue was the origin of ideas/knowledge.

Rationalism: Believed that Science and Metaphysics hinged on innate knowledge and/or knowledge from pure reason.

Empiricism: All knowledge (except math and logic) was to be found from experience.

This session will have a lecture to begin it off (introduce concepts) then a question/answer/discuss session.

NOTE: Voice will not be used nor required, it will be all text this time.

HERE COMES 2009

Mystic Academy is seeing in the third New Year since its inception by Dragon Shichiroji in November 2006. As we go into 2009 Mystic Academy has over 1700 members and over 100 listed staff - many of whom are currently active in teaching, consultations and administration of the Academy. In the last few weeks an exciting development has unfolded - one which we are taking into the New Year and which promises to bring a whole new dimension to Mystic Academy in 2009. This is the Mystic Campus which is offering a wider variety of classes and activities with an informal ambiance set in the sister sim of Matara.

MYSTIC ACADEMY is going from strength to strength - be part of it in 2009!

Mystic celebrated the holiday in style!

Mystic Musician ScottBoronski began the festivities streaming his own cool album 'Let's Move Out to Mars'. Manon Clary - The Angel of the Sims - continued with great Christmas songs handing over to Mystic DJ AlienShaman Constellation to take us into the wee small hours. The costume competition was won by Hokon Cazelet for the females and Marko Seurat for the males - together they make a Mr and Mrs Claus! Congratulations both.

HUMAN RIGHTS FESTIVAL

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL AT MYSTIC ACADEMY WHO WERE INVOLVED IN THE EVENTS FOR THE HUMAN RIGHTS FESTIVAL - FROM THOSE WHO PERFORMED IN THE EVENTS, THOSE WHO RAN CLASSES AND THOSE THAT WORKED BEHIND THE SCENES TO BRING THE EVENTS IN SMOOTHLY AND ON TIME. THANK YOU ALL - YOU DID GOOD!

To coincide with the Human Rights festival SL Artist Xe Parx and her Twin Flame Xi Hermit have mounted an exhibition dedicated to Human Rights. Along with the exhibition there is a sandbox where if you join the Angel's Nest group you can create your own Human Rights artifacts and have them on display. The exhibition runs until January 20th and takes place at Angel's Nest sim.
